Speaking and conference tour

I will be attending a few conferences this fall and winter, and speaking at two of them.

On October 6th I’ll be speaking at the SLA Northwest Conference on Content Management. The program is available online

The topics and speaker bios are available on the website as well.

The title of my presentation is Creating a Customized Content Management Solution from the Ground Up: A Case Study. I will be discussing how I programmed a content management system from the ground up for the Oregon chapter of SLA. The site is not active yet, but I will have much more to say about it soon when it goes live.

Later in October I will be attending the KM World & Intranets Conference in San Jose. This looks to be a great program this year.

Finally, in January, I will be speaking at the Enterprise Information Management conference in San Francisco. The title of my presentation there will be “The Interactive Intranet”. It will focus on how to create intranets that encourage user participation, and how user-generated content fits in with larger information management goals in organizations. However, I must admit that I’m a little intimidated by the speaker list. There will be CEO’s, CIO’s, KM Managers, and me, a librarian. Should be fun though.
