Law firm recruiting videos
Law.com has a great article about videos and podcasting on law firm websites.
The focus of the article is mainly a firm called Choate Hall & Stuart. Choate features a series of videos called “Choate vs. Megafirm.” The videos seem to be based on Apple’s PC vs. Mac commercials. They are very well done and presented with a great interface.
The page also includes comments and ratings for all the different videos on the website. Everything’s very well done.
One of the things I like best about this is the humor and focus on factors outside of the standard summer associate pitch. Most videos like this I’ve seen on law firm websites features associates talking about why they like the firm, or something work they do, or why their firm is the best. These videos show more personality, they feature associates and summer associates talking about various aspects of their work/lives which are not normally part of the standard pitch. One summer talks about her favorite scene in the shining, an associate says he’s a “Dunkin’ Donuts guy.” This is a great use of new web technology. The content, technology, and community all work well together.
